Today’s topic is yet another important one: 'Your Action is Your Religion'. It’s part of an unfolding series of topics, around this theme of Whatever It Takes and The Commitment Code.  There is this belief that you can’t do something unless you feel it or believe it; that you can’t take action until you feel inspired to do so, or you can’t really step into that life and do that thing until you are at some certain state and have really worked out all of our issues around it.  But it’s absolutely not legitimate. It’s what’s called ’emotional reasoning’. It’s just an excuse that we’ve come to be conditioned around our feelings and our beliefs, that they have to somehow be in a certain state in order for us to do the thing we want or the thing we’re committed to… But as I’ve been talking about in my latest topics, that’s absolutely false.  Now, while it’s certainly great to be inspired when you sit down to write, for example, it’s not a prerequisite. Likewise, it’s great to have the energy when you go to the gym to work out, but it’s not a prerequisite. Just go work out, take the action and the energy often follows.  You are a divine power plant, and a power plant doesn’t receive energy; it generates it.  Is there compelling action, congruent with your highest vision, that you need to start taking? The real principle of life, of ultimate liberation and fulfillment, is to seek first that connection within you. To begin to organize your whole life and your whole living around only one thing – to seek God consciousness, Love consciousness, connection with this Divine Spirit, this evolutionary impulse, the Real.  This inner source is Cause. When you are one with it and are consciously connected and feeling its flow, it manifests Effect according to your Divine pattern.  The One Minute Mystic is about beginning to develop a way of life where you’re stopping on a regular basis, just for a minute, maybe even only 30 seconds, and pulling yourself out of the hypnotic spell of the world and of your own mind. Freeing yourself from a conditioned set of programs that are constantly bombarding you to believe that if you just had more of this or less of that, you’ll be free.  From this day forward, your driving goal is to seek first the Kingdom of Heaven within you, the Nirvanic state. To seek first the deeper connection with the Divine, to be a place of peace and love and truth for the next 30 to 60 minutes. (Bonus Episode) Snap Out of It! The 5 Hypnotic Spells Sabotaging Your Success

It’s just an honor to do this deep dive with you into ‘Loving Your Enemy, the True Path of Healing and Mastery’.  We often think about this demand or command from the Bible, ‘love your enemy’, having to do with other people. It doesn’t really have anything to do with people. But principally speaking, it refers to all that you judge bad or negative, in your body and your world. For instance, it refers to a quality or characteristic about a person that pushes your button: they’re needy, they’re greedy, they’re selfish, they’re a thief, etc.  Ultimately, all of those qualities are in you. They’re not out there. If they push your button in any way, shape, or form, they’re all in you. They make you sad, mad, scared, angry, fearful, resentful, and defensive. It’s all in you.  You’re not in the world; the world is in you. You’re not in relationships; relationships are all in you. You’re a field of consciousness that includes all of it. Your unique experience of it all is showing where you need to grow, showing you fragmented parts of your own psyche to embrace and integrate and fall in love with. The enemy is actually showing you where the evolution is trying to happen, where the next stage of possibility is trying to happen.  To love your enemy means you get to be in love with all of you and everyone, regardless of the appearance or the condition. You get to be a transparency for reality and an instrument of greater destiny, of greater potential. This is the power of loving your enemy.  At the end of the day, you’ll begin to realize we’re not really here to save the world. We’re not here to save or improve a condition. We’re here to serve the emerging possibility, the emerging vision.  You don’t merely want to get rid of the enemy, you want to discover what’s trying to emerge, what’s the treasure, what’s the new possibility! Life is alive, and it’s purpose is to live, give, share, shine, circulate and to put itself on ever-greater display. If you’re not saying yes to your yes and coming into integrity with that emerging vision and purpose of your life, then you’re not fulfilling your reason for being here.  You’re like an extra piece in this Divine puzzle, and extra pieces get pushed to the side. I’m not saying this to scare you. I’m saying this because this call is about what it really takes to make it, to grow, to heal, to succeed, and to sustain.  My commitment is to be an individual who knows you can handle the truth and who tells it to you like it is.  To be full-on leaders of your life, full-on givers of your gifts, where your structures are strong, where you’re wealthy, healthy, happy, in love, connected, and contributing citizens in the world, you need to able to see it the way it really is.  You wouldn’t be here if you weren’t the answer to a call. Now you have to consciously cooperate with that call. You have to consciously collaborate, co-labor, with it. (Bonus Episode) This is What it Really Takes

Greetings, my fellow Emergineers, it’s great to bring you another very important topic, ‘Always be Planting: How to Harvest Your Past and Seed Your future.’  The first thing to understand is that you’re always planting, and you’re always reaping what you’ve planted in the past. Every thought, every word, and every action is a seed of your future moment, and every moment is the fruit of a past seed.  So the thought, the word, the action, the seeds you’re planting in this moment are the potential fruit of your future moments, and every now moment is the fruit of your past planting. There is no other element that enters into the equation.  As you sow, so shall you reap. I don’t reap what you’ve sown, and you don’t reap what I’ve sown.  As you begin to realize that, you can take full responsibility for this moment because this moment can’t be more or less than what you’ve sown or planted before. This means that nobody else has ever or can ever determine the quality of this moment, the fruit in this moment, but you.  The good news is no matter what harvest you find yourself with right now, whether it’s a harvest of sweet fruit or sour and bitter fruit, or just a lot of weeds, that you can always begin to sow a whole new crop. You’re never stuck with whatever’s just there. You can absolutely begin sowing again. I invite you to identify one area of your life that may need a little cultivation. (Bonus Episode) Always Be Planting: How to Harvest Your Past and Seed Your Future

Why Do Good Things Happen to Bad People (And Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People)? This is an age-old question, and it's answered in my latest podcast. It can be a crisis of faith when we start to look out and see what we might call ‘negative’, ‘destructive’, or ‘greedy’ types of people, and we wonder why they have so much more abundance than really ‘decent’, ‘good-hearted’ people. Or why are these decent, good-hearted people getting sick, and these somewhat greedy, materialist people are just doing great and flying around in their jets?  There are some key distinctions to understand here. The first one is that what the law of life operates upon is consciousness, principle.  What appears to be a good person and a good personality, in and of itself, is not what the law of life is operating upon.  Here’s a great way to look at it. If you don’t understand the laws of conductivity, electrical principles, and you just take some live wires and grab hold of them, or you touch the wrong wires together, and they blow up, or they electrocute you or even kill you.  Electricity is no respecter of persons. It doesn’t care how nice of a person you are. If you don’t understand the law and the principle of electricity it doesn’t matter how good you are. You’re going to have some problems.  If you learn how to float you could be a really evil person, and you’ll still float in the water. Think about that. If you know how to fly a plane and operate in alignment with the laws of aerodynamics, you can be a really bad person, and you’ll still fly that plane. We’re doing a deep dive today around the topic 'The Fields Are Always Full: How to Transcend Seasons and Cycles and Experience More Abundance Now'.  You’ve heard me use the analogy of the radio broadcast: Right now, right where you are, your favorite music is broadcasting. There’s information, inspiration, and music broadcasting that if you were to suddenly hear, it would inspire you, and would change your mental, emotional, physical state.  The only distance between you and the manifestation of the music is a distance in frequency. When the frequencies match, you have music. You have a manifestation.  So that music is potentially in your life, but it’s actually broadcasting at the frequency where it exists.  Just like the music, the fields are white unto the harvest, the abundance is already here now. It’s not here in potential. It’s actually here - health, wealth, wholeness, harmony, joy, peace, love, the fullness of life, Heaven, Paradise, Nirvana - everything you could ever want, hope for, desire and need are already here actually!  Not in potential, but actually... It's only potential in terms of your experience.  Our call today is to no longer wait for the harvest to come, to no longer wait for the economy to change, or wait for our family, our friends to agree with or validate us.  We will no longer wait until we think we’re good enough or have enough, but take a stand today, in the middle of the field of our life and begin to know, affirm and live from the truth that we are surrounded by and are an expression of abundance!  I invite you to make a commitment to yourself, to begin to show up, to take your basket and step into your “field” and harvest the good that’s there. Start to show up as if you’re really supported. This is both a powerful principle and somewhat controversial because it doesn’t always look like the Universe is rigged in our favor.  When we say life is for us, we are tapping into the principle of oneness, and the truth that life is always working to express more of its wholeness, abundance, and perfection — always supporting its own fulfillment.  This means it’s all working for your highest and greatest good.  As W. Clement Stone said, “We must become inverse paranoids, believing that all of life is conspiring for us.” You are a unique infinite expression of life, and through and as you life gets to know itself as an individual being. The Universe is conspiring to completely unleash its potential as you, yet we don’t experience it directly. We experience our relative perception, our belief about life, our thought about life or about a condition.  But because all there really is is love, and life forever giving and supporting itself, even those conditions that we would call “bad” are working together for our good. This episode shows you how to live in alignment with this...  When you begin to embrace this principle, every problem becomes answered prayer. Every so-called negative condition becomes an evolutionary catalyst. You begin to ask evolutionary or emerging questions:  “How does this support my growth and expansion? How is this making me stronger? How can I use this experience to become more awake, more aware, a purer, stronger instrument of life, of truth, of beauty, etc.?”  When you don’t understand this, you ask questions like “Why is this happening to me? What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with life? God, why have you forsaken me?”  Those questions keep you hooked into a paradigm of duality and separation, believing life isn’t for you, and that leads to more experiences that reflect that back to you. I’m shaking up things a little bit here. Today’s topic may be the most controversial thing I’ve ever talked and taught about: ‘Jesus Was Not His Name’.  The real purpose of this particular talk is to try to clear away a lot of the dogma, doctrine, extremism, and the fundamentalism around the great philosophies and religions. I really want to open you up to become contemplative, a student of truth, who questions, even down to the words we use. Words have power. Stories have power. History has power.  There’s a particular interest I have in the teachings of Jesus and the Christian teachings because of the power in them, but also because of how profoundly misunderstood they are, and how profoundly corrupted they have become in terms of the real meaning, intention, purpose, and power.  These cultural iconic elements of our history such as the teachings of Jesus or Buddha, etc. have tremendous power and influence over us. They are exerting influence on us until we become conscious of them.  We can integrate them, or if we discover that it’s not true or right for us, we can consciously reject them. But we don’t want to reject them unconsciously without understanding them, and we don’t want to lose the power of them and not integrate them because we don’t understand them. (Bonus Episode) Jesus Was Not His Name (And Other Game Changing Truths)

Forgiveness is such a loaded subject, partly because we don’t really understand what forgiveness means, and that there are multiple levels of forgiveness.  The most primary level is a sort of superiority; it’s very much an ego-driven thing. At this level, you, to some extent, recognize that unforgiveness is unuseful; there’s some level of recognizing that holding a grudge is painful and it’s not helping you.  The second level is when you’re willing to no longer withhold from another individual. At stage, when you think about forgiving someone, there’s some degree of either neutrality, or maybe even a degree of love, (or at least wanting the best for them) even though there may still be a little bit of a sting because you’re still seeing them as having done you wrong.  That’s a very powerful step, but it’s still not the truest meaning of forgiveness, however, it’s very advantageous and preferable to the alternative.  Here’s something to understand: Forgiveness is primarily for you. If you are withholding love or blessings from somebody else, no matter what, you are actually blocking your own channel of flow.  From the Emergence model we understand that whatever is missing is what I’m not giving. If I’m withholding love, gratitude, and joy from anyone or anything, at any time, that much love, gratitude, and joy cannot flow into my life. Today’s topic comes from this fundamental idea that, God, as we’ve been conditioned to know it (whether you believe in a God or not) is a power outside of us. We are unpacking these ideas, busting these myths, and letting go of old limited archaic concepts of God, life, and power, in order to come to a deeper and truer understanding of life principles. What I really want you to get is the fundamental understanding that life is not personal, it’s principle. The nature of God is an isness. God is a principle and a presence. It’s not something that’s changing or something that evolves.  On some level, this has entered into our culture and conditioning, into the way we see ourselves, life, and the way we see the universe (Again, whether you believe in a God or you believe in a universal power, universal laws, or you believe in good luck.)  All of that is a part of this fundamental concept of our belief in God. Your belief or your concept of what God is absolutely has a major impact on how you experience life, how you live life, and to the level that which you get to express the full potential of life.  The first and foremost thing we need to understand is that there is no God or no power out there, not in the North Pole, not on the North Star and not in the stars. All the power is within you. Maybe you’ve come to understand the Law of Emergence but you’re still operating trying to attract, achieve, and make things happen.  You’re still operating in the old paradigm, using the old models and toolbox. It’s like you’ve suddenly gotten a Ferrari, and you’re still driving it like it’s a Honda and not understanding that a much more fine-tuned instrument and requires a different way of handling.  In order to keep evolving up levels, you have to let go of the predominant tool of the level before, even in some cases, things that worked.  Where things are no longer working, one of the first things you want to look at is: What is the larger life trying to emerge through and as me? What is the larger paradigm or model of life?  You can begin to step-by-step, methodically release those old paradigms and replace them with the thinking, feeling, walking and talking that is in integrity with the life you’ve been praying, affirming, visioning or having a deeper insight about. (Bonus Episode) ASK DEREK - Why Aren't Things Working Anymore?

Unconditional giving – it’s the whole foundation, and ultimately, the core principle of Emergence.  As the emergence work says, whatever is missing is what we’re not giving. Whatever we’re waiting for, we’re waiting with.  If you are really operating as if the whole kingdom of Heaven, as if all of the Universe was within you, and whatever was missing was what you are not giving, your life would look different, as would mine.  We are the way the whole Universe has individualized itself; we are unique individualized expressions of all of the power, the presence and the love of God. (Whatever term you use, this is what it means to be the son of God. This is what it means to be the offspring of the Most High. This is what it means to be a radiant light, the light of the world, the lights of every man and woman.)  Right where you are is the whole Universe, therefore, there is no God or power or anything separate from you, or outside of you, that’s going to come to you, ever.  Remember, you are not on your way to something. You’re not on your way to Heaven or to God, to abundance, to wholeness, or to love. You’re coming from the everything. Just as the sunbeam is not on its way to the sun, it is the sun expressing. It’s on its way to expressing more of that light, bringing that light into all the seeming dark places, delivering its gifts.  That’s who you are – coming from God, from love, from abundance. You are that place where the whole Universe gets to put itself on display in a unique and unprecedented way.  If all of that true, (and it is) what’s the mechanism by which you express your infinite being?  There is no mechanism that’s going to bring it to you. There’s only a mechanism that’s going to allow it to come through you and as you, and that mechanism is giving, unconditional giving.  Another word for that would be sharing, circulating, serving, expressing, radiating. (Bonus Episode) Unconditional Giving: The Path of True Abundance

This is a very powerful and personal question that I’m sure many of you have had. I’ve certainly been asked it many times and have asked myself this many times…  From the Emergence model and the perennial truth teachings, whatever is missing is what you’re not giving. The whole of ultimate reality is in your soul and your consciousness. So if you are praying for something, trying to get, attract, achieve it or draw it to you, and using prayer either as a supplication and beseeching of something outside of you, you’re already praying amiss, because true prayer is an activation.  Prayer is an opening through and as which you get to express more of the infinitude that is within you. You’re never praying for anything, you are praying from the thing itself. You touch reality.  The core idea is that it’s already here, and I’ve used the radio analogy a lot to help explain this… The music is already broadcasting right where you are, but it’s not manifest until you tune your dial into the vibrational frequency of the station where the music is playing. When your vibration matches the vibration of the station, that station becomes manifests. It’s a manifest-station.  The music was already broadcasting. It wasn’t in the future. It wasn’t in the distance. It wasn’t even potential. It was potential in terms of your experience, but it was actual in terms of the dimension in which that music was broadcasting that actuality became manifest when you came into integrity with it vibrationally.  You must come into integrity; you must pray believing you already have in order to receive it. If you pray not believing you have it, it still gets activated, but you can’t receive it yet until you believe you have it.  As I’ve talked before, every sincere prayer, desire, and affirmation you’ve ever said, in that moment, that potential, seed of possibility, is activated. (Bonus Episode) ASK DEREK - Why Aren't My Prayers Answered?

This is the secret to unending growth, success, and abundance.  From the analogy of a plant or a tree, think of a farmer who’s harvesting fruit trees… The farmer cultivates the soil, plants the seed, waters, weeds, feeds and exposes it to the proper light. Eventually, the seed sprouts and becomes a tree, but all along the farmer continues to nourish its roots. Over time, it starts sprouting fruits, which the farmer harvests and enjoys, but he stays very much focused on the roots.  Whereas the analogy to a lot of individuals, is we may spend time on the seed, the soil, and the roots for a period of time. When we start to get some level of success in our lives, whether it’s that we’re not in as much pain, or in as much resistance, or we start to feel a level of momentum, we tend to get caught up in the fruits, and stop tending to the roots. Our ego has been programmed to think that what’s appearing is where the power, source, and substance is.  It’s great to enjoy and celebrate the fruits of your labors; your progress and momentum, but don’t forget what got you there. The daily work of cultivating the soil of your soul, doing the inner work of coming into greater congruence and alignment with the vibration of your vision.  Your inner work is the foundation of everything. It’s about developing a way of life – it’s about changing your ultimate character, which allows you to fulfill your ultimate destiny. It’s about falling in love with the process and the practice, with prayer and meditation, visualization, affirmation, and nourishing yourself with high vibrational material as a way of life.  Equally important, it’s not so much stay rooted as you rise, but stay rooted even as you fall. Maybe you start experiencing a level of success or progress, but then things start to go downhill. That’s the time to build those muscles, that inner soul stamina so that you become stronger and stronger in your capacity to know and feel the truth, and be the truth in the midst of any condition. (Bonus Episode) Stay Rooted as You Rise

There’s life and there’s life experience, and life (which is a synonym for God, or love, truth, universal power, spirit, etc.) is all that there really is.  Life is forever unfolding and expressing. It’s giving of itself everywhere, maintaining and sustaining its own perfection eternally.  You are a unique individualized expression of this infinite life. You and the truth of you is already a done deal. You’ve already made it. You’ve already arrived. You’re already a success. Your life is already fulfilled.  This is the fundamental truth of all being.  We’ve been conditioned to believe that life is an outside-in game, that we are separate from life, from each other and from all the things we want. So much of how we’ve developed and conditioned our mind, emotions and our body to live in this world are based on beliefs and concepts that are contrary to the way life really operates.  The mechanism by which you experience this infinite, eternal pattern of good, is by your own conscious awareness of it.  In order to express something, you have to already have it. In order to have something in your life, you have to express it.  You cannot experience what you’re not willing to express. You cannot express what you don’t consciously have, or as the Law of Circulation says, you cannot give what you don’t have; you cannot keep what you don’t give, and you cannot sustain what you don’t receive. It’s circulating, but it has to come from within you. (Bonus Episode) Why You Can't Get What You Don't Have

We hear the expression “I’m just going to go with the flow” a lot from heart-centered, spiritually-minded people, or even those who are just trying to have less stress in their life.  In many cases, this is a stall tactic or an avoidance tactic. It’s an egoic defense mechanism – what it really means is, “I’m stressed out”, “I’m burned out”, “I’m overwhelmed”.  Going with the flow is not always good on certain currents. If all you do is go with the flow, you’ll get caught in the crosscurrents or go over a waterfall! You need intention and you need to row, too. What’s moving many of us in many moments is a flow based on our shadows, wounds, coping mechanisms, defense mechanisms, and values conflicts. It’s all the ways we’ve learned to get by, to survive, to get what we think we don’t have and to not lose what we’re afraid somebody is going to take away.  There is a flow, a current of energy in our life. But just going with that flow is not going to take us where we want to go.  Once you are more deeply rooted in the truth of your being, if you have a deep spiritual practice where you are meditating and praying and connecting to that source on a daily basis, then you will feel this flow begin to use you and move through you.  Then, going with the flow will feel like you’re letting go of resistance and letting go of fear and being willing to be used and taken down this river of life, even though these fear patterns may be telling you “Be careful, don’t do it.”  Listen to the podcast episode above for the full explanation and learn how to put this into practice in your life TODAY.
