Riley Gaines sits down with ICONS co-founders Kim Jones and Marshi Smith to discuss the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on women’s sports, the debate over sex-based eligibility rules, and the legal battles that could shape the future of female athletics.
Kim Jones recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee at its hearing, “Standing Up for Women in Sports: Ensuring Opportunity, Fairness and Safety for Female Athletes.” In this episode, Jones and Smith take Riley inside the hearing and explain the arguments they brought to Washington.
They discuss eligibility standards in women’s sports, proposed sex-screening policies, the IOC and USOPC, enforcement by national governing bodies, Title IX, NCAA litigation, and why ICONS believes court cases could have lasting consequences for women’s athletics.Learn more about your ad choices.
