Kappa Kappa Gamma is at the center of a federal appeals court battle over its membership policy. Now, a current Kappa member is speaking out.
Florida State University student Alexis Richards joins Riley Gaines to discuss the controversy surrounding Kappa Kappa Gamma, her reaction to the legal fight involving members of the University of Wyoming chapter, and why she publicly called on her sorority to change its policies.
Alexis explains why she joined Kappa, what sisterhood and sorority life have meant to her, and why learning about the controversy left her questioning what could happen at her own chapter. She also tells Riley why speaking publicly was nerve-racking—and why she decided to do it anyway.
The conversation goes beyond Kappa Kappa Gamma. Riley and Alexis discuss sorority recruitment, political expression on college campuses, Alexis’ experience at Florida State University, her involvement with Turning Point USA, her plans for law school, affordability, and the issues she hears young Americans discussing.Learn more about your ad choices.
