Colorado Proposition 134 is putting girls' sports at the center of a major debate ahead of the November 3 election.
On this episode of The Riley Gaines Show, Riley is joined by former athletes and advocates Megan Burke and Paula Scanlan to discuss Colorado's proposed Protect Girls Sports Act, which would establish sex-based categories for school sports.
Megan shares her experience as a Colorado mother and former athlete, including concerns about youth athletics, competitive opportunities, and the future of girls' sports. Paula explains why supporters are pursuing a statewide ballot initiative and what the outcome could mean beyond Colorado.
The conversation also examines the Dakota Ridge High School volleyball controversy, the effort to gather ballot signatures, arguments surrounding athlete privacy and eligibility, and the challenges advocates say they face.
