Dr. Mark Gregory Karris is a compassionate and dedicated licensed marriage and family therapist, empowering individuals and couples to embark on transformative journeys to healing and self-discovery. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Nyack College, followed by a Masters of Counseling from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. Mark's extensive knowledge on religious trauma has also found its way onto dozens of podcasts and television, where he has engaged in important conversations about the significant issue this emerging topic.

A celebrated author, Mark's impactful books, "Religious Refugees: (De)Constructing Toward Spiritual and Emotional Healing" and "The Diabolical Trinity: Healing Religious Trauma Due to Believing in a Wrathful God, Tormenting Hell, and a Sinful Self," have touched the lives of countless readers, offering profound insights and guidance on their path to emotional well-being.

Mark's therapeutic approach is holistic, integrative, and experiential. He believes in engaging the mind, body, spirit, and emotions, drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities. From psychodynamic and intensive short-term dynamic therapy to internal family systems, cognitive-behavioral, somatic-based, and spiritual approaches. He has also undergone extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, ensuring that his couples receive the most effective and empathetic care.
