The topic today is No Dead Lamp in Jesus’s Book. Ephesians 2:5Amplified BibleAt the time when Paul is writing this batch of letters, he is jailed, and still wants to encourage the churches he planted in Ephesis. So for starters, jail’s got no hold on his peace and joy, because he is overflowing and has so much that he shares that in his letters to encourage people. Let’s look at the greek for sin Language Greek for sin: paraptoma , side slip, in the KJV trespass: If you slip up, you end up not only in the wrong place: like on the floor instead of standing firmly, and wrongly positioned: you are vulnerable, and you might have got hurt or injured in the process. Sin derails us from our place of having victory and being firmly footed, our place of authority reducing  us to being in a place where we need someone to help us back us, to get a firm hold of us to reposition us and to give us our firm stand and authority back.But there’s more to this , because we know that the devil takes away our footing to not just create damage , but also death, however, that’s not what we’ ve been built for, therefore we ‘re built in a special way, we ‘re built God’s way and salvation or redemption reminds us of that, it restores us in our upright position, fullness of health and identity through grace: there’s nothing to do, no hoops to jump through.Genesis 1:26-27Amplified BibleAs we are created in the image of God, we carry some of God in us, in our gut area, and in our DNA. We are his children, his creation, but he has made us to be Christ-like and Jesus Christ is the light of the world.John 8:12Amplified BibleThat makes us lamps, and the job of a lamp is to lit up a place, that’s its purpose, and our God given purpose is to bring the gifts and talents and our redeemed personality to people where God has placed us. Matthew 5:15Amplified BibleIsaiah60:1-3 The devil had tried to take Lazarus’s lights out, but Jesus called his light back and Lazarus got resurrected because the glory that was in him recognised the voice of the king of Glory, he got powered back through resurrection virtue. Our greater purpose is not just to display the peace, the joy and all that dwelling in the presence of God does, it is to be the change agents because our gut is where the resurrection power and the glory live in us, and we’re to bring that a world that is still in sin, broken, hurt, dead for some parts, we our powered up internally and externally , we carry our own electricity generators inside of us.
