Crying allows you to let things out and to release some pain. It helps you to deal with hardship and loss. But to me this quote is referring to being burdened by disappointment, setbacks, frustration, negative news, and the daily grind. We all have issues we are dealing with everyday. Inflation and affordability, conflict and crises, crime and safety, uncertainty. And reading, listening and watching mainstream media news can be even more depressing as most of the reported news is doom and gloom. So that puts you even deeper in despair.Pretending all those things don’t exist isn’t the answer. It can be easy to give our attention and focus to what is missing, what is broken or what has gone wrong. But there is also a lot of things worth appreciating that we are completely overlooking.Having a positive attitude doesn’t mean ignoring your problems or trying to force yourself to be happy all the time. It means recognizing that the difficult parts of life aren’t the whole story. The small pleasures of life can make a big difference. Don’t take for granted the little things like a sunny day, a good cup of coffee, a favourite song, a kind gesture, the wind in your hair, the smell of the ocean or a hug from a friend.Being grateful for everything we have can completely eliminate the feeling of lack for what we don’t have. Gratitude doesn’t automatically happen. You ha
