Your Healing Playground - Dr. Tina Koopersmith  Surfing between my 2 brains - juggling my inner critic and inner best friend. For years, living with myself vacillated between a daily celebration of life and a trip to a torture chamber disguised as a palace. All children are trying to survive in an unpredictable world where all the rules are not yet known.  I am unconditional love, joy and never-ending play--always have been, always will be. I love to move my body, to learn new things, to befriend strangers, human and furry, and celebrate breathing and aliveness. I have unbounded energy that I couldn&#39;t contain AND sugar and spice and everything nice living in a dress with lace and frills was NOT my version of fun. Give me a tshirt and shorts and let me play in the mud or climb the trees or race around the yard playing tag. Years before Title 9 was law, this way of being baffled my parents and my teachers and I felt I couldn&#39;t fully be me. I became an amazing chameleon, fitting in everywhere but never really feeling I belonged anywhere.  My inner judge disguised herself well. Whereas my inner best friend loved me so much, always wanting me to be better and better. The purpose of life was to improve yourself daily - trying to be the PERFECT version of me, but PERFECTION is impossible, and so it’s a staircase that leads nowhere but to disappointment. When you are raised to be a brain on a stick, you can’t escape into your body. Learning to reprogram my operating system, I can now befriend myself by spending time in my body rather than my logical brain. Like a chiropractic adjustment, this readjusted my nervous system.
