Claudine and Lisa are joined by 18-year-old entrepreneur Mizan Tompkins, a self-taught tech prodigy who began coding at eight and launched his first company at twelve during COVID-19. He later gained 170,000 TikTok followers by teaching 3D printing and STEM, all while forgoing AP classes and learning solely from YouTube. Tompkins, also a pilot, developed "Stratus," an AI-powered system aimed at enhancing safety at untowered and low-resource airports after experiencing multiple near mid-air collisions due to unmonitored frequencies. Stratus utilizes AI to transcribe live pilot communications, analyze traffic data, predict potential collisions, and automatically alert airport managers and first responders to emergencies. Currently in its early stages and seeking pre-seed funding, Stratus plans to deploy devices in ten California airports by August 1st, with future enhancements like radar integration and continued development based on pilot and airport feedback.
